Arisia 2017 finished up on Monday a week ago. I was on the panels about Using Real Science in your Science Fiction Story and (as usual) The Year in Bad Science, which had a packed room. I also did Hands-On Science in Fast Track as I have for many years, doing experiments with kids. This year it was Ultraviolet light — making cyanotype prints and photochromic bracelets — and diffraction, using feathers, open-weave cloth, and inexpensive gratings.
My story Unexpected will be in Murder Ink 2, to be released a month from now. I’ve also learned that my fantasy story George Washington and the Dragon in the anthology Live Free or Dragons should be out around Labor Day.
In the meantime, I’ve added another essay to Pop Culture — The Kiss of Death from Mister Goldfinger. Enjoy.
